Generation 01, Chapter 09: Do you think Snowy the Bear is creepy?

James is a wonderfully well behaved boy.  He has his normal toddler antics but overall he is the perfect mix of Adam and I.  He has my blue hair and strange dark chocolate brown eyes.  They are beautiful but mysterious since neither my side or Adam's side of the family has them.  James has inherited my love of cats and Adam's love of horses.  He can't ride the unicorns yet but he loves to point at them and make neighing noises (he would ride the cats... if they let him).

"... The science research center has created a new device called a 'weather stone' which will hopefully bring seasonal weather to Sunset Valley.  It'll be a new experience for most Sunset Valley citizens but the researchers at the Science Center believe it'll bring a new flow of people and cash into the city.  Now, onto the weather.  The weather stone has been activated today and so summer officially begins today.  It'll be a toasty-."

I shut off the television before he gives the weather report.  Weather?  I'd never experienced such a thing.  As long as I've known Sunset Valley has been a perfectly sunny (with very occasional showers) city.

Adam comes into the living room and smiles when he sees James playing on the floor with the kittens.  Then he moves his gaze towards me.

"Adam, tell me something.  What do you think about the new weather stone that they've implemented?  Yay or nay?"

Adam doesn't reply and his face creases as he ponders my question.  "I'm not sure," he says at last.  I've never really experienced extreme weather conditions but it can't be that drastic, can it?  I mean, we can adapt if we need to.  Hopefully it won't impact our lives too much."

"Do you think it's a stupid idea to go visit the stone?  I'd like to know more about it."

"Of course not dear, none of your ideas are stupid."

I dress in a light outfit but apparently it's not light enough.  "Oh my goodness, it's sweltering out.  How can it be so hot?"  Adam doesn't look much better and poor James is covered in sweat from himself and from Adam.

"Perhaps we should change," Adam pants.

"Mommy, I'm hot...," James complains.

"Yes, let's go inside put on some summery clothes."

We change into more comfortable clothing and head over to the Science Center.

"Wow, this thing is freakier in person," I say aloud.

"So true," Adam agrees.

"It says here that it controls the weather but it also allows Supernaturals to interact with it to create crazy unnatural phenomenons.  Apparently no one has really tested that out but it's a work in progress."

Adam swings James into the air to occupy him.  This little outing isn't really interesting for the poor toddler.

"Do you actually believe in Supernaturals?"  Adam asks curiously.

"Dear, remember that some of my children are vampires.  So yes, I do believe that they exist."

"I know that.  But seriously, fairies?  Witches?  Zombies?  It sounds... kind of crazy."

"Says the man that owns two unicorns.  I swear, what does it take to convince you anything?"

Adam laughs and I roll my eyes.  "I suppose I could think a little more outside of the box," he finally says.

"You'd better," I mutter as I try to stifle a laugh.  As much as he irritates me with his ignorance, he's extremely cute and I just want to giggle at everything he does.

James decides to walk on his own back home and the long journey wears him out, so much so that he falls asleep right as his feet step into the front door.  We slip some pajamas onto his sleeping form and set him into his crib.  It's so rare for him to sleep this much without making a peep that we don't dare wake him up for dinner.  We'll suffer the consequences when he wakes up in the middle of the night but Adam and I could care less.  A few hours of rest could do us good.

That night, Adam slips off his shirt and climbs onto the bed.  I slip on my pajamas and join him.

"So," Adam starts to say, "Now that James is asleep, perhaps we could have a little fun?"

"Oh you," I giggle as I eye him flirtatiously.  "I don't know... what if James wakes up?"

"We'll be quick.  I promise," Adam says.  All I can see is the lust in his eyes and it tempts me but I try to resist.

"Really, Adam, I don't think tonight is the night...."

"You know what I've been thinking?  Tonight would be a great night to expand our family, if you know what I mean."

I'm surprised.  "Really?  You want to try for another child?"

"Why not?  I know I want James to have a little brother and sister and he's already getting so big.  You saw him walk home.  He's getting older and it's probably best that there isn't a big age difference between him and his sibling-."

I pull him toward me before he can finish.

"Okay, you've convinced me.  Now make it worth it," I grin.

He gets the memo and shuts up.  And fortunately for the both of us, James sleeps the entire time, so we have quite the night.

"Hi, my name is Snowy the Bear and I love you.  Can I give you a big hug?   And perhaps some kisses?"  Adam asks James in a high-pitched voice as he role plays as James's stuffed snow bear, Snowy.

James giggles as Adam makes Snowy hug and attack James's face with beary kisses.  I smile at the lovely scene.  I'm supposed to go into labor any second so I'm getting some things packed up before we go to the hospital.

Kadie stands next to me as she watches Adam and James interact and play with Snowy.  Then she stiffens as I feel my water break.

"Adam!  The baby!"  I panic.

People always tell stories about how after the honeymoon everything goes downhill in a relationship.  But apparently that wasn't true about Adam and I.  Even after arriving home, we act like how a perfect couple should.  We were beyond perfect.

Adam pulls me towards him and kisses my lips.  Then he begins to speak.  "Come outside, I have a honeymoon gift for you."

"Adam, wait," I command, pulling him to face me.

"What is it?"

"I feel bad, you always get me gifts so... I got you one.  Can I give you mine first?"

"Ladies first," Adam nods, winking at me.

"Okay, wait here."

He obeys and I walk to the front of the house where Adam's present it waiting.

"Okay, you can come out now!"

Adam comes out and I shiver in delight as I wait for him to discover his gift.

He covers his mouth with his hand and gasps.

"Calista!  You're- you're incredible."

He comes over to pet the new unicorn.  "I thought a little more about what you meant when you mentioned 'horns' on a horse.  So I did some research and found a special place where you can adopt unicorns.  I've named him Majesty but if you want something else, feel free to change it."

"Majesty," Adam echoes.

"You don't like it?"

"No, far from that.  I love him, Calista.  He just makes me more excited to show you your gift from me," Adam grins.

I follow him as he leads Majesty to one of the pens.  Looking to my left, I instantly see his present.

"Oh my God!  You got me a unicorn too?"

I instantly go over and pet the new addition to the family while Adam feeds Majesty.

"What's his or her name?"  I ask.

"Her name is Mystic," Adam replies.

"Mystic," I repeat.  She nickers at the sound of her name and I pet her long and flowing blue mane.  It looks very similar to my own hair and I realize that it probably wasn't a coincidence.

"How in the world?  How is it possible for you to get me almost the exact same present?"  I speculate as I trace my finger around Adam's nose and chin.

"I don't know.  But you look so cute trying to figure it out," Adam murmurs closing his eyes.

His hand touches my arm briefly before touching my lips.  My thoughts disappear from the unicorns as he works his magic and pretty soon, Adam and I are on the floor.  Mmmm, he's so yummy.

It's been a few months and as many of my friends have suspected, I am pregnant.  Only this time, it's not for a challenge or from some guy I don't know.  Adam is the father and he's overjoyed.  Unfortunately, his house only has one bedroom, which is okay until the baby grows up.  So Adam is getting to work planning and hiring a team for a new addition to the house.  I suggested he hire Gladstone Kincaid since Gladstone helped to renovate my own house so many years ago.

Quite coincidentally, the cats and the unicorns both are expecting.  Only the cats surprised us because we had wanted to breed the unicorns.  I just hope that Kadie, our dog, can tolerate so many new additions to the family.

Adam and I decide to take some portraits of ourselves once I get to my third trimester because I agree with the fact that there are no pictures of us around the house.  I call the same photographers that photographed our wedding and we schedule the pictures for next week on Friday.

"...And this," Adam opens the door dramatically, "is the baby's new bedroom.  I decided to make the smaller one the baby's bedroom so that he or she can move into the larger one when he or she is older."

"Good thinking," I murmur.  I can only stare at the simplicity and the beauty of the bedroom that I am looking at.  It reminds me a lot of the room that Simon Simmons built for me by mistake.  Of course, that room now serves as the room for his actual son, Joseph.

I start to tear up but quickly cover it up by leaning into Adam's chest.  "Thank you, honey.  This is so sweet.  I love you," I tell him, looking up at him.  He must be able to sense my sensitivity because he rubs my back and tells me he loves me too.

After a few minutes of silence, I walk out of the minuscule bedroom and over to the larger one across the hall.  "So what's in here?"

"Nothing yet.  But it has a gorgeous view of the town."

Royal trots over and starts pawing at the door.  "Mrow?"

"What's up boy?  Wanna go inside?"  I coo.

Adam opens the door and gasps.

There, in the center of the room, sits Chimera with three small kittens.  Royal rushes over to his children as if checking to see if they're okay.

"Wow, I was not expecting that," Adam says in amazement.

"Is it weird that I'm not surprised?"  I muse.

Adam laughs, "Of course not, you're used to cats reproducing all the time.  I'm surprised you didn't know it was coming before I opened the door."

Despite the anticlimactic event, I can't resist awing at the adorable fur balls.  They look so precious sleeping and snoring.

The first kitten of the litter is Henri.  He loves Kadie and fortunately the feeling is mutual.  I really hope they maintain that relationship when he's older (or until he gets adopted).

Claude is the middle kitten.  He's a daredevil and not afraid of heights.  If he were human, he'd try to conquer every mountain in the world.  For now, he's going to stick to the railing of the deck.

Lastly is the only female of the little, Sophie.  She's a 100% daddy's girl despite the fact that she looks most like her mother.  She and Royal seem to be so close personality-wise that I can understand why they're related.

Finally, Adam and I attend out photo session.  I'm nearly at full term so my belly is large and I found it difficult to find an outfit that worked and still made me look somewhat decent.

I'm brushing my teeth when I feel a tight cramping on my lower abdomen and the pain is nearly unbearable.

I drop my toothbrush and yell for Adam.  I hear his footsteps rushing towards the bathroom.  He swiftly opens the bathroom door.

"Calista, are you okay?"  He asks.  Upon seeing my condition, he realizes what's happening and goes berserk.  "Oh my God, I'm not ready for this.  Being a father is a big responsibility.  Oh God, I don't know if I can do this," he panics.

"Darling," I say through clenched teeth.  "Just put on a damn shirt and drive me to the hospital.  I don't feel like doing a home birth with this one."

"Oh yes, of course!"  Adam concurs and he scampers to the bedroom and helps me down the stairs, out the door, into the car, and to the hospital.

The labor is short and the next night, I bring home a beautiful baby boy.  We name him James Adam Smith, after my father and coincidentally, Adam's father.  He's 55 cm long and weighs almost 8 lbs and he's breathtaking.

"Wow," Adam marvels as he juggles baby James in his arms.  "I cannot believe you and I made him.  He's wonderful."

"He really is," I agree.

Generation 01, Chapter 07: Where's the honey? Where's the moon?

NOTE

Mostly for my own sanity, I didn't put too many "gross" scenes in the honeymoon and although there is nudity, they're covered up enough.

Just warnin' ya.  It is a honeymoon.

Thanks for reading!!  :)

"Ready to go?"

"I'm ready.  But I think I might have packed faster if you had told me where we're going.  'Someplace outside of your house' sounds appealing but it's not very helpful," I grump.

"You'll find out soon enough," he chuckles.  I cross my arms and he gives me a quick kiss.  Then we pick up our bags and leave for the airport.

"China!  I would have never guessed.  Honestly, I was expecting something cliché like Paris or something," I exclaim as we set out bags down in the little vacation home.

I scan the small house that Adam picked out.  It's secluded, peaceful, and surrounded by nature.

As I finish unpacking, Adam walks into the room.

"So," I say, "what are we going to do today?"

"Well, I was thinking that we'd visit the museum and the famous Sim Fu academy.  Then we can go see the zen garden and perhaps do a bit of meditation.  After that we can go to the market and buy some nice Chinese delicacies and visit the locals, possibly learn some Chinese because I've always wanted to do that.  If, but only if we have time, we'll come back here and have some fabulous sex."

I shut the drawer.  "Oh," I finally say, sounding unenthusiastic.  I didn't realize we'd actually have a set game plan.

Unexpectedly, Adam comes closer to me and works his hands around my waist.

"But then," he continues in a low voice, "I realized that we're on vacation and we can do whatever the hell we want."

He moves his hands to rest on the sides of my face and leans his head down and starts kissing me.  My mouth surrenders to his persistent tongue and his hot breath mixes with mine.

We fall onto the bed as it gets more intense and his kisses move their way down to my neck and to my collarbone.  "And honestly, I like the last thing on our agenda the best," he finishes.

My breath quickens and I respond by saying something along the lines of a "hmmmhmmm."

He starts to pull up my dress, pressing his warm hands on my stomach and I am utterly transfixed and unable to think about anything except for this delicious piece of man on top of me.

"So what exactly are we doing today?"  I manage to ask as I unzip his sweatshirt.

"We're going to make love for twenty-four hours straight in every room of this tiny place.  Twice," he answers as he unties my dress and proceeds to slip it off.

"And after that?"  I prompt, slipping off his pants.

Adam's hands roam my body and his mouth soon follows.  "I'll let you know when we get there," he replies faintly.

"Good plan," I say at last.

Of course, we do get onto other things while we're here.  I wouldn't want to waste two whole weeks in China without exploring first.  Two days after our arrival, Adam and I eat breakfast and then walk over to one of the local museums.

"Wow, the art in this exhibit is exquisite.  The detail... incredible," I exclaim in awe.

"It says here that this vase is over 2000 years old," Adam adds incredulously.

We spend hours in that museum and we actually spend most of the time looking at art.

The next day we visit the Sim Fu academy that Adam has always wanted to visit.  It's peaceful and perfect for practicing moves as well as meeting other masters of the art.  Adam and I go to the bathrooms to change into our uniforms.  I come out in my black and yellow ribbed uniform to see Adam still dressed in his traveling attire.

"Adam!  Why didn't you change?"

"I changed my mind," he says.  "I'd rather stand and watch you do Sim Fu.  Or better yet, gaze at the beautiful scenery with you in my arms."

"Mmmm, I'd like that too," I agree.

And that's what we do.  I rest in his arms while we stand in tranquility, watching the trees wave in the breeze and smelling the cherry blossom flowers.

Sometime that week we make it down to the market where I buy some souvenirs for family and friends and some little things for myself, including a fancy Chinese dress.   Adam buys me a beautiful stone in the shape of a heart to forever remember this trip by.

On the last day of our honeymoon, Adam and I walk over to the Terracotta Warriors.  They're massive and much more intimidating than I thought they would be.  Like in the museum, Adam and I gawk at the impressive detail and engravings on each statue.

Later we go to the giant ponds where we fish for koi.

I am not successful but Adam manages to catch a large and very beautiful koi.  Fortunately, he releases the fish but not before posing for a picture with it.

That night, Adam and I watch the stars and talk under the darkness.  There is not much moon out tonight.  Just a barely noticeable sliver.

"I'm having an awesome time, Adam.  You planned this entire trip?"

Even though it's dark out, I can see that he's blushing.  "Yes.  I've always wanted to travel the world.  When I was little, I had planned a trip to China by writing down all the places and things I wanted to see thinking I'd never be able to do it.  But now, I have.  I told you my dreams came true when I met you."

We lean back together, his hand around mine, and stare up at the pitch black sky.  The stars glisten and sparkle without a care in the world and it's dead silent, except for the nearly silent rising and falling of our chests.  It starts to get late and we walk back to the vacation home, our hand entwined.

Right when we get through the door, Adam, very forcefully, locks his lips with mine.  I'm surprised at by his roughness but enjoy it nonetheless.

In less than a minute, we're both without clothes and kissing each other everywhere.

"Wow," I say breathlessly.  "I wasn't expecting that at all."

Adam indicates that he wants to move to the bed but I act daring and push him down with all of the force I have onto the floor.  He smiles at my sudden whim and we kiss and touch some more.

Suddenly, he flips me onto my back and hold his hand under me so that I hit the floor gracefully.

"Now this..." he starts to say as his hand travels down my back and I arch my body towards his.  "This was not planned."

My body is shivering with pleasure. "Well, I have to say, I really like the unorganized Adam Cohen.  He's much more... how do I say it...?  Rambunctious.  Yes, much more rambunctious than the lets-stick-to-the-plan Adam Cohen."

"This is the craziest thing I've ever done.  Is that sad?"  He asks solemnly.

"Of course not.  It's sweet to know you're going out of your comfort zone to please me.  Now, let's both shut up and do this," I command and he tells me he couldn't agree more.

It's an amazing night once again and I fall asleep to Adam carrying me into bed and kissing my forehead, telling me that he loves me over and over again.

The next morning there's no breakfast waiting for me, but something better.  Adam is gazing intently at me and he smiles widely when he sees I'm awake.

"Good morning," he greets.

"Morning darling."  I notice that I must have put on some clothes during the night as Adam grasps my hand in his.  "Is it time to go?"  I ask.

"Almost.  We have to leave by 8 tonight."

I peer at the clock.  9:00 am.

"Hmmm, let's stay in bed until noon and then get packed up."

"Sounds like a plan," Adam agrees and we cuddle up together.

Best.  Honeymoon.  Ever.
